Reach No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary

The sanctuary is an offshore destination rather than a desert ground route. Start from the Deep Sand Dunes side, check the temperature protection needed for the current time of day, then cross the water without committing your stamina to an unsafe final stretch.

Ancient Bone is not a loose pickup. Search for oversized skeletal remains whose rib structure can be harvested. Ordinary scenery and smaller bones can resemble the silhouette from a distance, so confirm the object responds before marking the route empty.

A safe first collection route

   Empty enough inventory capacity that the pickup can be identified immediately.

   Fast travel to the Deep Sand Dunes side and equip heat or cold protection for the current time.

   Cross to No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary with a mount that can remain over water safely.

4. 04

   Land outside a patrol spotlight and sweep the island edge before cutting across the center.

   Harvest the large ribcage-like skeletons and confirm Ancient Bone appears in inventory.

   Leave by the same safe route instead of waiting for patrol pressure to force a rushed exit.

Do not plan around a guaranteed yield

The current Wiki page is still a stub and does not provide enough evidence for a fixed yield or respawn timer. A screenshot showing several Bones on one run is not proof that every world state returns the same number.

Plan the trip around one verified collection and combine it with other sanctuary goals when possible. If the recipe needs more, repeat after confirming the node state in the current session rather than waiting for an unverified timer.

Why the node appears missing

On a shared server, another player may have collected the visible node. Avoid interpreting an empty sweep as evidence that the location moved. Confirm the sanctuary number, object shape and server state first.

Ancient Bone supports later 1.0 equipment, but the Bone is rarely the only expensive component. Open the exact target recipe before making repeated sanctuary runs and count the other materials that could become the next bottleneck.

The current evidence supports the source and route more strongly than an exhaustive uses table. This guide therefore keeps the collection task separate from a database mirror that could go stale after a balance patch.
