Get the first Ore from Whalaska
Coralum creates a small progression loop: fishing tools need Coralum, but the obvious offshore source also expects fishing equipment. Whalaska breaks that loop and is the correct first target.
Whalaska is a level 50 Pal on the Isle of Glacial Core, far north-east of the Astral Mountains. Bring cold protection and spheres appropriate for a level 50 catch. A current IGN route recommends Ultimate Sphere quality or better rather than wasting lower-tier throws.
Turn one catch into a repeatable source
- 01
Catch at least one Whalaska to secure the first Coralum Ore and Pal entry.
- 02
Obtain a male and female pair if you want the safer base route.
- 03
Breed the pair, hatch the offspring, and use the Disassembly Conveyor only when the return is worth the cake and incubation time.
- 04
Keep one useful Whalaska rather than dismantling the only specimen that enables your breeding loop.
Scale with Salvage Spots
Offshore Salvage Spots can provide Coralum once your fishing setup is ready. You need a swimming Pal; a flying mount does not fulfill the interaction. High-quality spots become easier to target with the Powerful Fishing Magnet, a late technology unlock.
This route is better for bulk gathering because it combines exploration with other salvage rewards. It is not the first-step answer for a player who has no Coralum tool yet.
Secondary sources and use
The Sunreach Isle Expedition can return Coralum but asks for a substantial Dragon Pal team, so it belongs in an established roster. Enemy bases can also reward the material. Both are bonuses rather than the quickest unlock route.
Coralum is refined into Coralum Ingots and supports the fishing-rod line. Decide whether the next rod or an ingot recipe is the immediate bottleneck before converting the entire stock.
