Build the production chain in this order

An oil base is a connected system. Choosing a field without checking build room can block the footprint. Placing the machine without enough electricity creates an idle Extractor. Producing oil without transport leaves output waiting at the machine.

Start with one complete chain. It reveals whether placement, power or logistics is the actual limit before a second Extractor doubles the demand and the confusion.

Choose a field and place from the edge

  1. 01

Use the base-location guide to choose a current oil field with enough flat build room for the generator and storage route.

  2. 02

Clear nearby temporary obstacles and approach the visible field from its outer edge.

  3. 03

Move the Extractor footprint inward only until the game accepts the overlap.

  4. 04

Confirm the placement before building walls, foundations or decorative structures around the field.

  5. 05

Leave service space around the machine so workers can reach it without clipping through another production line.

03

Power is usually the second bottleneck

Current 1.0 guides pair the Extractor with a Large Power Generator and high-level Electricity workers. Orserk is a strong specialist for this role, but the generator still needs clear access, food and enough worker uptime to meet the full base load.

If the Extractor reports no power or stops under load, isolate the test: pause other large consumers, confirm the generator is being worked, and watch whether the Extractor begins a cycle. Adding another generator before checking worker access can duplicate the same failure.

04

Connect storage before optimizing output

  1. 01

Place dedicated storage on a short, unobstructed route from the Extractor.

  2. 02

Assign Transporting capacity that is not constantly pulled into unrelated jobs.

  3. 03

Clear the machine output and record the starting storage amount.

  4. 04

Watch one complete production and transport cycle.

  5. 05

Confirm the oil reaches storage before expanding the field or worker roster.

05

When to attempt two Extractors

Some current oil fields can fit two Extractors with careful side-by-side placement. Treat that as an optimization for a known compatible field, not a universal guarantee. Begin at opposite edges and preserve valid overlap for both footprints before confirming either placement.

A two-Extractor setup also increases power and transport demand. If the first machine does not complete a stable cycle, a second one makes diagnosis harder and may lower uptime for both.

06

Diagnose the symptom, not the whole base

Cannot place
Check field overlap, terrain and nearby structures
No power
Check generator work and total demand
Very slow
Check Electricity worker uptime
Oil stays at machine
Check Transporting and storage path
Second will not fit
Use one machine or test a compatible field
Old build cost
