Use the first region you can reach safely
Hardwood comes from sturdy trees in harsh biomes, not every ordinary tree. That distinction is why clearing a forest near the starter area still returns only Wood.
Twilight Dunes is the practical first stop. Sakurajima becomes attractive when its travel and enemies are routine rather than a supply drain.
- Earlier route
- Twilight Dunes near the Anubis Dunes area
- Later route
- Sakurajima around the shrine and tower approach
- Passive route
- Logging Site II at a working base
- Emergency route
- Buy from the Fisherman's Point merchant
Harvest the Twilight Dunes route
- 01
Prepare heat protection appropriate for your current route into the desert.
- 02
Unlock a nearby fast-travel point so the run begins at the trees rather than with a long approach.
- 03
Look for the twisting desert trees with spiky foliage instead of chopping every trunk in sight.
- 04
Use a Metal Axe or better, collect a deliberate first stack, and leave once repairs or carry weight slow the route.
- 05
Convert only the amount needed for the next High Quality Wooden Board or gear target before scheduling another run.
Use Sakurajima as the later alternative
Around the Dancing Sakura Shrine and Moonflower Tower approach, red- and white-trunk Sakura trees can supply Hardwood. The route is easy to recognize visually and can be combined with other Sakurajima tasks.
Do not travel there only because it is later in the map. If Twilight Dunes is already fast and safe, the shorter round trip may still be the better active farm.
Switch to Logging Site II when travel is the bottleneck
- 01
Unlock Logging Site II in the current Technology tree and confirm its recipe in-game.
- 02
Place it where a Lumbering Pal can approach the work face without crossing storage or farming lanes.
- 03
Assign a worker that will not constantly leave for a higher-priority unrelated job.
- 04
Put dedicated storage close enough for Transporting Pals to clear the output.
- 05
Verify one complete cut-and-store cycle before removing the manual route from your plan.
