01

The first route: Searing Dunes Watchtower

  1. 01

Arrive shortly before night so the entire dark cycle is available.

  2. 02

Fast travel to Searing Dunes Watchtower in the Dessicated Dunes.

  3. 03

Glide or ride north and scan the ground for bright nodes rather than searching by daylight landmarks.

  4. 04

Keep the route wide enough to avoid circling the same empty patches, then fast travel home when the glow becomes hard to see at dawn.

02

The higher-yield Feybreak beach circuit

Feybreak beaches support a longer sweep with more visible nodes, and some trails continue inland. This is the better bulk route after your level, equipment and mobility make the island routine.

A current PC Gamer run reported roughly one hundred Sand over a full night, but that is a route observation rather than a fixed guarantee. Spawn state, travel speed and collection efficiency change the result.

03

Alternative source and what to craft first

The 1.0 Pal Starryon Primo can drop Nightstar Sand in the World Tree, but hunting it is usually less convenient than beach collection. Use the drop as supplemental material rather than the core farm.

Common competing recipes include the Advanced Bow, Beam Sword, Metal Detector and Double Air Dash Boots. If Chromite is your next goal, reserving Sand for the Metal Detector can unlock an entirely new material loop. Mobility gear may be more valuable if it materially shortens every future run.

04

Why a route appears empty

  1. 01

Confirm it is fully dark; dusk can look close enough while nodes remain difficult to identify.

  2. 02

Move off the exact fast-travel landing area and scan a broad arc.

  3. 03

Do not assume a screenshot marks a permanent single node; use the biome route, not one pixel-perfect spot.

  4. 04

If Feybreak is consuming supplies or causing repeated deaths, return to the desert route until progression catches up.
